Arizona Chamber Launches Effort To Kill Proposition 206

The effort to kill Proposition 206, a ballot measure that would raise Arizona’s minimum wage is now in full swing. Opponents are preparing a million-dollar ad blitz against the initiative which would raise the state’s lowest wages by nearly 50 percent.

If approved in November, the measure would increase the state minimum wage to $12 an hour — from its current $8.05 — by the year 2020.

With just three weeks until early voting begins, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce has launched its campaign to stop what is known as the “The Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act.”
