Financial Forensics and Valuation Senior Analyst

The Valuation Senior Analyst identifies client needs, meets those needs, and views clients as their own. Senior analysists are expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion when working on semi-complex client engagements based on their knowledge of valuation methodology and professional requirements.  Senior analysts  will receive ongoing training in valuation and forensic assignments and are expected to begin developing positive leadership skills, communication and testimony skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsiblities

  • Enters financial data into established forensic and business valuation models
  • Performs research for valuation projects
  • Prepares portions of narrative reports for valuation and litigation purposes
  • Performs and summarizes assigned tracing procedures of specific financial accounts and transactions under the supervision of more experienced staff
  • Communicates with management  regarding assignment status, gaps in information providing and issues identified during project
  • Reviews tax returns and financial statements to extract information essential to the engagement
  • Prepares reconciliations and/or comparative analysis of information obtained from tax returns and financial statements
  • Learns and understands financial concepts and calculations used in economic damages, present value calculations and other financial projections
  • Learns and understands basic accounting concepts and bookkeeping procedures
  • Obtains a working knowledge of marital dissolution and civil law processes, case law and other legal concepts
  • Obtains a working knowledge of applicable forensic and valuation research techniques and the various research sources, and performs research utilizing those techniques
  • Understands and adheres to the rules and requirements of records management related to document retention, discovery and compliance with subpoena processes
  • Performs other financial forensic services and duties as assigned
  • Summarizes detailed tracing analyses and/or calculations
  • Develop findings and conclusions and report to management
  • Presents results to clients and attorneys
  • Assists management with maintaining profitability within engagements
  • Assists in managing client communications and expectations
  • Assists with interviewing parties involved in litigation and valuation engagements Responsible for building external relationships and a network of prospective referral sources

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to explain complex financial information in a simplified manner
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and ability to build a strong network
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to learn complex excel functions, financial modeling and other data analysis software systems
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, finance or equivalent degree as determined by the management committee, required
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in forensic accounting and/or valuation services preferred
  • CPA or relevant professional designation, or has a progressive plan toward passing the associated exam (ABV, CVA or ASA preferred.)
